Now that I look back on Tuesday, I can see why I had no appetite and why I left 4 points on the table. That is so unusual for me! It started out as a beautiful day and I felt great. The sun was shining for the first time in a few days and I was looking forward to getting to walk around a bit outside during lunch.
But about mid-afternoon I started getting that feeling, which is hard to describe, but that there was something in my chest making it a little harder to breathe. I left work and had time to go home for a snack for heading out for my 7:15 p.m. appointment to “get my hair did” so that I wouldn’t be tempted to overeat at dinner. I felt pretty rough by the time I left the salon and got some elderberry meds on my way home, thinking I could load myself up and fight off whatever was bothering me. So by the time I actually ate dinner, I really had to force myself to eat much of anything.
The next morning, all indicators were pointing to the flu, so I made an appointment and got tested. The flu it was! Since then I’ve been bundling up, staying hydrated, and staying in the house so that I don’t infect the community! The eating has not been on target since Tuesday, but here’s what a full day of eating looked like the day before everything went off the rails.
